Chris Peterson

Christopher Peterson has spent the last 16 years in food and farming systems development, including small-scale vegetable production, community food projects, food policy, and livestock management. Based in Western North Carolina, he works for the Franklin Farm Hub, where he manages their 94-acre Community Farm and oversees food safety for their charitable distribution projects. He is also the Board Chair for Certified Naturally Grown and has previously managed AOVS Urban Farm and GrowMemphis in Memphis, TN. He believes that farming systems work best when they are designed to meet the needs of the full biotic community, paying attention to human health and well-being, native plants and animals, aesthetics, and social impact.
