Kai Cosmos is the Conference Director. Kai has spent the past fifteen years working as a farmer and gardener in many environments across Turtle Island and abroad. Originally from San Diego, California, land of the Kumeyaay, they have called Western NC, land of the Cherokee, home for the better part of the last decade. Beyond farming, she is also an educator, community organizer, and general tender of land, people, fellowship, and the broader mutualistic ecosystems these exist within. They also work with FairShare CSA Coalition, developing and teaching courses in leadership development for farm managers, and serve on the core leadership team for the NC Queer Farmer Network & Convergence. Outside of work, they can be found growing an experimental garden, reading too many books at a time, writing biting poetry, dipping in wild water, learning a new craft, sharing in joy and abundance with loved ones, envisioning the future, and gentle parenting her two cats.
